5K Fun Run at Brigidine School, Windsor

On Sunday 17th April the fourth annual Run to Read was held at Brigidine School. The event was opened by Olympic Rower, Debbie Flood and she kindly presented winners with their prizes too. It was a fantastic day with 20 runners for the ABC 1K race held in the beautiful grounds of Brigidine School followed by 46 runners for the 5K race at 2pm

The winner of the 5K fun run, only 12 years of age, ran a lightening race in 21minutes and 43 seconds – one to watch for the future. As at 28th April the event has raised £2300 for Dyslexia Action and the Brigidine School Library.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, ran and sponsored this marvelous event. Monies raised will go to support the work of Dyslexia Action Egham and reading at Brigidine School Windsor.

Please join us again next year for another great family event.

5K Fun Run at Brigidine School, Windsor

Sunday 17th April 2016     2pm start

Help children learn to read and join us for a 5K out-and-back run or walk along the beautiful Queen Anne’s Ride in Windsor Great Park, raising money for Dyslexia Action Egham Centre and the Brigidine School library. Queen Anne's Ride, dating from 1708, is a grand avenue featuring a single row of trees on each side. It runs south-west towards Ascot. It is a grassy route, and as weather conditions vary during April, participants should prepare for the possibility of mud underfoot.

In addition to the 5K Fun Run, which is recommended for participants ages 10 and older, an ABC 1K Run is available for younger children on Brigidine School grounds, starting at 12:30pm.

Double Olympic medallist Debbie Flood, from Team GB, will join us for our 2016 Run To Read event!

We are excited to announce that Olympic medalist Debbie Flood will be at the event on Sunday. She will be blowing the "start" horn for both our ABC 1K Run at 12:30pm and the 5K on Queen Anne’s Ride at 2:00pm. Debbie will be presenting awards for both races.

Included amongst Debbie's many accomplishments:

We are honoured to have Debbie join us for this very special event!
